AK Smarts PDF

Verify PDF Signature

Find out whether a signed PDF is genuine and unchanged.

Choose PDF file or drop files here

Open any digitally signed PDF to see every signature in it: the signer’s name and email, the signing time, the certificate and who issued it, and whether the signature is valid.

The check also tells you if the document was changed after it was signed, which is the main sign of tampering. It works for e-Sign, DSC and other standard PDF signatures.

How to verify PDF Signature

  1. Choose the signed PDF.
  2. Read the status bar at the top: valid, changed or invalid.
  3. Click Details to see each signature, its certificate and signing time.

Features

Private by design

Most online PDF sites upload your file to their server. AK Smarts PDF opens and processes it inside your own browser, on your computer or phone, so salary slips, bank statements, Aadhaar and PAN copies, and contracts never leave your device. It works on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, and you can install it like an app to open PDFs with a double-click.

Questions

What does “changed after signing” mean?

Someone saved new content into the file after the signature was applied. The signed part is intact, but you should check what was added.

Why is the signer shown as not trusted?

The certificate’s issuer is not on this computer’s trusted list. The signature can still be mathematically valid.

Is the file uploaded for checking?

No. The verification runs in your browser.

Is AK Smarts PDF safe for confidential files?

Yes. Files are opened and processed on your own computer or phone and are never uploaded to our server. Only e-Sign sends a short fingerprint of the document, never the document itself.

Does Verify PDF Signature work on my phone?

Yes. AK Smarts PDF works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac. You can also install it like an app.
